LUNCH PROGRAM 2007-2008

Lunch at MHR

The MHR lunch program has provided a nutritious and well-balanced meal for the children over the past 15 years. For 2007-2008, prices have not changed and a full lunch can still be purchased for $2.50 using the lunch ticket system. A ticket buys any of the following:

  • The COMPLETE LUNCH of the day from the monthly menu including main dish, side dish, vegetable, fruit, bread/rolls, dessert, and drink.

  • The GARDEN SALAD or TUNA SALAD lunches including salad, dressing, roll/crackers, and drink.

  • The CHEF SALAD including only salad, dressing, and roll/crackers (no drink).

  • The PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY SANDWICH or HOT DOG ON A BUN (new this year) lunches including vegetable, fruit, and drink.

Students order lunch on the daily lunch count form completed first thing in the morning in the homeroom class. Since salads are made to order, these must be specifically ordered in advance on the lunch count. Students who arrive at school after 8:15 am must go to the cafeteria to order their lunch and, if they wish, request one of the salads.

Buying Tickets

Lunch tickets are sold only on Monday and Tuesday mornings (exception: every morning the first two weeks of the school year). They will not be sold on other days unless there are extenuating circumstances or the child has been out of school. Since tickets may be used at any time during the 2007 - 2008 school year, you may purchase them in any convenient quantity--and we accept checks (made payable to "Most Holy Redeemer School"). It is extremely important that you write your child's name and homeroom on the back of each ticket in case the ticket is lost.

A La Carte

Whether you bring lunch or buy it, the following items may be purchased in the lunch line with cash:

  • Every day: Milk, chocolate milk, and some juices for $ .70.

  • From time to time: A variety of other drinks for $1.00. Chips, Cookies, Donuts, and Muffins for $ .65

The Soda Rule

SODAS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN SCHOOL AT ANY TIME.  Therefore, they may NOT be brought from home or delivered to the cafeteria during the lunch period by parents.

Volunteers

We invite interested parents to volunteer their assistance. Any help you can give us will enhance the daily program. Approved volunteers interested in helping to prepare food or serve the children should contact Mrs. Corbett in the cafeteria at 933-4750, extension 16.  Help is needed all year, even if for only a few hours a day once per month. Service hours may be earned, but DEDICATION is what we need!
