MHR HEALTH PRECAUTIONS AND POLICIES

At MHR, the health of our children is, of course, paramount. Good health awareness and habits are always taught and practiced as a part of the curriculum. In addition, we put top priority on sanitation in the classroom (including routine hand sanitizer use throughout the school day) and extensive supplementary sanitation by the cleaning contractors (including bleaching of commonly touched surfaces such as desks and doorknobs).

We remind everyone that any sick individuals, including adults, should stay home, follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s and their physician's direction, and keep the school informed. We, in turn, will keep you informed--you can get the latest from the school here on this page.

Authoritative health information directly from the CDC is linked below. We've also included Diocese of St. Pete policy and background during previous flu outbreaks.

We also ask that if you need to keep a child at home, it only takes a few seconds to report the absence to the school using our online form. This report fulfills all student handbook absence reporting requirements, is much faster for parents than calling the school recording number, and is much faster and more accurate for the office than transcribing early morning phone messages.

From the Diocese:

The following communications from the Diocese of St. Pete have provided policy guidance for school health issues in the past. Although somewhat dated, the Diocese has issued no new policy and we continue to use these documents for general guidance.
