HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION Constitution and By-Laws
ARTICLE VII - EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE The Executive Committee of the Association shall consist of the president, vice president, past president, or other past officer, treasurer, recording secretary and corresponding secretary. All officers must be members of the Association during their term of office. The Administrator shall be an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee shall meet on a monthly basis during the school year. The term of office shall be one year. The president and vice-president and past president may hold office for only two consecutive terms. The treasurer, recording secretary and corresponding secretary may also hold the same office for two consecutive terms. Any vacancy on the Executive Committee shall be filled by an appointment of the president with a confirming vote of the majority of the other members of the Executive Committee. The consent of the Administrator and/or Pastor and the nominee must be obtained prior to appointment. The president shall: 1. Preside at all meetings of the Association and its Executive Committee. 2. Appoint the chairpersons of special committees, with the approval of the Executive Committee. 3. Be an ex-officio member of all committees, except the nominating committee. The vice president shall: 1. Be chairperson of the Social and Hospitality Committee for general meetings. 2. Provide and serve refreshments at all Home and School Association functions, assisted by all homeroom parents. 3. Perform all duties of president in the president's absence. 4. Accompany the president, as an observer, to all meetings. The recording secretary shall: 1. Record minutes of all general meetings and executive committees and submit copies to the members of the Executive Committee, Pastor, and Administrator. 2. Supervise taking of attendance at all regular membership meetings and include attendance figures in the Association's minutes. The corresponding secretary shall: 1. Prepare and disseminate correspondence and communication from the Association, including notice of all meetings. The treasurer shall: 1. Receive all funds of the Association. 2. Keep an accurate account of receipts and expenditures. 3. Make only such payment out of funds as are authorized by the Administrator and president. 4. Prepare financial data that will be distributed to all parents. The past president will: 1. Provide guidance to the Executive Committee. 2. Attend and vote as appropriate at all School Advisory Commission meetings. |
